Apple has inaugurated a state-of-the-art office in Bengaluru, India, showcasing a commitment to creativity, well-being, and environmental sustainability.

The 15-story building, strategically located near prominent landmarks like the parliament and cricket stadium, aims to provide a vibrant workspace for its 1,200 employees.

Situated conveniently at Minsk Square with easy access to public transport, the office features dedicated areas for labs, collaborative work, and a cosy culinary spaces known as Caffe Macs.

The interior design incorporates locally sourced materials, greenery, and stylish elements, creating a pleasant and inspiring environment.

Notably, the office operates entirely on 100 per cent renewable energy, aligning with Apple’s strong focus on environmental sustainability. This new addition complements Apple’s existing offices in Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Gurugram, marking a significant 25-year journey in India.

The Bengaluru teams at Apple are engaged in diverse tasks, including software development and customer support. Apple, with nearly 3,000 employees in India, has been utilizing green energy exclusively since 2018, contributing to a sustainable future.

Beyond the office spaces, Apple’s impact in India extends to collaborations with local suppliers, generating employment opportunities across the country.

Partnerships with organizations like Frank Water underscore Apple’s commitment to environmental protection in the outskirts of Bengaluru.

In a statement, Apple expressed excitement about its expansion in India, emphasizing that the new office is not just about growth but is designed to be environmentally conscious and leave a positive impact on the country.

The statement highlighted that the workspace in Bengaluru is crafted to foster innovation, creativity, and connection, providing an ideal environment for collaborative efforts among Apple’s talented teams.

In recent years, Apple has significantly intensified its efforts to expand its manufacturing and retail presence in India. Embracing the China-Plus-One strategy, the company has collaborated with key partners such as Foxconn, Pegatron, and Tata Electronics to produce high-end iPhones and accessories in the states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

As part of its expansion, Apple has established two official retail stores: the BKC Store in Mumbai and the Saket Store in Delhi. These outlets are experiencing robust sales, with monthly revenues ranging between Rs 22-25 crore each.

Apple has emerged as a prominent beneficiary of the Indian government’s Production-Linked Incentive Scheme, a program designed to boost domestic manufacturing. According to reports, the company achieved a remarkable milestone by manufacturing iPhones worth Rs 1 lakh crore in 2023, setting a record as the highest production value for any smartphone manufacturer in India.
